Email us
For anything related to BillSplitterApp, write to billsplitterappsupport@gmail.com. This inbox goes directly to the person who can actually help. There is no ticketing system, no chatbot, and no support tier — just an email and a reply.
Response times are usually within one to two business days. Longer during weekends and US holidays. If you don't hear back within a week, send a follow-up — occasionally an email lands in spam and disappears.
What to email about
Support questions
If something in the app is not working, or if a bill is not splitting the way you expect, send a short description and the bill link if you have one. The two most helpful things to include: the URL where the problem happened, and a screenshot if the issue is visual.
Common issues we can help with:
- A bill link that isn't loading, or is showing an error.
- A receipt scan that pulled the wrong numbers.
- An item claim that isn't saving.
- A share link that isn't reaching the friends you sent it to.
- A payer total that doesn't match what you expected.
Bill deletion requests
Because BillSplitterApp does not require accounts, the easiest way to remove a bill is to email us the bill link. We will delete it and confirm within one business day. This is the same process whether the deletion is for privacy, mistake, or any other reason — no explanation required.
We store bills long enough for everyone to settle up, then they become inactive. If you want an inactive bill fully removed from our database, email the link and we'll delete it manually.
Feedback and feature ideas
If something is annoying, confusing, or missing, we want to hear about it. Most of what is in the app today came from a real frustration with splitting a real bill — the receipt scan, the shared-items UI, the payer link, all of it started as an email from someone who ran into a specific problem.
Feature requests we hear the most:
- Splitting a running tab across a multi-day trip.
- Adding a "cover someone else's share" option to birthdays.
- Native support for currencies other than USD.
- Persistent groups (a set of friends you split with regularly).
These are all on the roadmap in some form. If one of these is important to you, saying so pushes it higher up the list.
Press and partnerships
If you write about personal finance, group expenses, dining culture, roommate life, or travel and want to reference BillSplitterApp, get in touch and we're happy to help. We can provide screenshots, example bills, a founder quote, and answers to specific questions on background.
For partnerships — restaurants, event planners, travel platforms, or anyone whose users could benefit from a fair bill-splitting flow — email with a paragraph about what you have in mind. We take these seriously.
Privacy and legal
Privacy questions, data deletion requests, and legal notices can go to the same email. The related details live in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. For deletion requests, please include the bill link so we can act on it directly.
Who runs BillSplitterApp
BillSplitterApp is an independent project built and maintained by a small team based in the US Midwest. It is not a bank, a payment processor, or a financial services company. It is a free utility for making group bills fairer and faster to settle.
Because it is independently run, the support email above goes directly to the person who can actually help. There is no outsourced first line of support and no scripted response — the person reading your email is the same person who can act on it.
What we can't help with
A few things are outside what we can do:
- We cannot recover a bill link if you've lost it. Bills are identified by the URL, and we don't have a way to look them up by email.
- We cannot mediate payment disputes between friends. If a friend hasn't paid you back, the escalation guide is the best starting point.
- We cannot give tax or legal advice. For business expense questions, see the expensing guide and always follow your employer's expense policy.
