Plain-English summary of what BillSplitterApp does and doesn’t collect.

Last updated: May 22, 2026

What we collect

BillSplitterApp collects the information needed to create and share a bill.

That may include the bill title, payer name, payment handles you choose to enter, line items, item prices, tax, tip, fees, and the claims people make when they select the items they ordered.

We use this information to calculate each person’s share of the bill and display the results on the private bill link.

BillSplitterApp does not require an account. You do not need to create a username, password, or profile to use the tool.

What we don’t collect

BillSplitterApp does not ask for your email address, phone number, banking information, debit card details, credit card details, or payment app login credentials.

If you enter a Venmo or Cash App handle, that handle is stored only as text so it can be shown on the bill page. BillSplitterApp does not connect to your Venmo account, Cash App account, bank account, or any other payment account.

BillSplitterApp does not process payments. It helps calculate what people owe and can make it easier to open supported payment apps with payment details filled in, but the actual payment happens outside BillSplitterApp.

Cookies and analytics

BillSplitterApp may use basic analytics tools to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are visited, how often the tool is used, and general device or browser information.

These analytics help us improve the site, fix issues, and understand whether the app is useful.

BillSplitterApp may also use cookies or similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, or advertising. If ads are shown on the site, advertising partners such as Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services on the How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps page.

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data retention & deletion

BillSplitterApp keeps bill information for as long as needed to make the shared bill link work and support the service.

Because BillSplitterApp does not require accounts, we may not always be able to identify which bills belong to a specific person unless you provide the bill link or enough information for us to locate it.

To request deletion of a bill, email us with the bill link or relevant details, and we’ll do our best to remove it.
